Russell spent most of his youth involved in athletics as an undersized athlete. When he got into college he invested his time in the weight room as well as meeting with a nutritionist to better himself. Through this education from others and from spending time taking care of himself in the athletic training room, he fell in love with health, movement, and the capabilities of the human body.
Russell completed his undergraduate degree in Applied Exercise Science from Azusa Pacific University and is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting L1 Sports Performance Coach, and a NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. Russell has spent the early part of his coaching career working with athletes ranging from youth development programs, college or combine preparation, and even through assisting professional athletes in private training.
