Don’t Wait- Prevent T2 Today

Community education is proud to share that we have graduated our second Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) cohort with more outstanding results. They are on their way to long term prevention of type-2 diabetes by collectively losing over 132 lbs and meeting or exceeding the goal of 150 minutes a week of physical activity.

Our next DPP cohort begins in August. If you or anyone you know is at risk for type-2 diabetes or has been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, consider joining our program. As a year-long program, we have the luxury of taking the slow and steady route. And as you know, slow and steady wins the race!

Research consistently shows that short-term changes, crash diets, and the like do not provide lifelong benefits. Eating healthier, moving more, identifying and coping with stress and learning how to stay on track are the cornerstones of the DPP. Coupled with the resources provided by having Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educators as facilitators, and Henry Mayo Fitness and other professional educators available to address their topics of expertise, makes Henry Mayo Community Education’s DPP a stand out.
