Welcome back to another Nutrition Month celebration. Here in Community Education we are excited to have the whole month to share good eating tips, habits, and ideas with you. This year we are focusing on eating together and all the benefits we get when we are able to sit down and share a meal. For a parent, it is the time to impart good eating habits and table manners to our children. It’s a time to soak up your food culture and break bread with your loved ones. Mindful eating teaches that when we are able to sit, slow down, and enjoy our food we eat the right amount, over a longer period of time, and our brain and stomach responds well to this balanced way of eating.
We have two exciting events coming up to share with you this month. On Saturday March 7th, from 12 pm- 5 pm, Henry Mayo Community Education and Fitness Center staff will be at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, next to the food court, challenging your fitness and nutrition knowledge. We will have giveaways, class information and easy tools to help you make some healthy lifestyle choices.
On Tuesday night, March 24th , from 6- 7:30 pm we are having our annual Nutrition Month Pop-Up class titled Eating Healthy Together in Community Education. Join us for quick meal ideas, planning tips and a food demo to help you enjoy delicious, nutritious meals to share with others.
We hope you can make it! Drop by the mall or register for our pop up class at https://www.henrymayo.com/classes-events/classes-events-details/?Event=11952.
